Why do children like spider man, super man , like super heros. Indian actor Rajani Sir is famous for his super heroism. It is some thing extreme than you can think. He can stop the bullet itself in one of the action scenes. But I like his two films very much Robo ( Yenthiran in Tamil) and Shivaji. One of the viewer in Malayalam cinema asked to our super hero. How can you hit and flies 10 person at a time. He answered you viewed it because of it. Is children and adults like super heros because they lack their powers or response like that?

I think kids like superheroes because they want to believe there are people in the world stronger than the bad people who can protect them. I think grown ups like superheroes for much the same reason. We take a visceral thrill from watching a superhero kick some bad guys butt.

Exactly. When they played super heros game they like to act like super hero and never villain.

When I was little it was the cowboys who were the heroes - people like Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, Tom Mix etc.

Kids like super heroes because they think that they are there to protect the world against the evil.

I wonder if kids like super heroes because those heroes make them feel safe in a world that continues to increase in danger. An interesting question you presented here.
