Random Word Post – dehisce

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “dehisce – Biology. To burst open, as a cocoon or a seed pod. From the Latin de- down and hiscere to gape, yawn.” This word isn’t entirely random, for reasons that will be made obvious tomorrow. I’ve never thought of a seed pod as yawning, although, I can kind of see it now.
