Happy Birthday to Me ... February 14, 2016

Today, February 14th ... is my birthday. I don't tell you this to get a lot of Happy Birthdays ... and I did get so many on my Facebook (facebook.com/grannygee).

I can't say how honored I was for so many people to even think of me ... that's something! People don't have to do that ... when they do ... a person should feel Special.
Three weeks ago ... I almost lost my husband, Skip. He had a stroke, not only that his heart rate got very low. They implanted a pacemaker in his chest.
Thankfully, each day he has progressively gotten better and better. He just began physical therapy, will be going twice a week for 6 weeks.
Most of you know I lost my only child, Tommy ... and all of my family until all I have left in this big, old world ... is my whole world consisting of Skip, and our 2 Pups ... Kissy, our Rottie and Camie, our Australian Shepherd, mixed. They are all I have ... and I treasure them with my Life.
So, we couldn't afford presents, celebration of my birthday this time ... doesn't matter ... real Life matters. I woke up this morning thanking God for letting me have Skip, and our Pups on my birthday... today. I couldn't have asked for more.
You all don't have to wish me Happy Birthday (I'm not fishing for Happy Birthdays at all!) ... I wanted to share what's on my mind today, and have a story to write. I feel very Special today ... when Life could have hurt me again in the worst way.

Happy Birthday Gloria..it is something that your birthday falls on Valentines as well.
I am hoping your husband will improve. Yes a big scare for you.
Glad you also have the dogs for company.

@GrannyGee I know you said not to send you Birthday wishes but what kind of friend would I be if I didn't. We have a few things in common, my husband is also Skip (real name is Frank) he has also had a stroke and 4 or 5 heart attacks. We also had 2 dogs at the same time, Newfoundland and Sheltie but we had 3 cats at the same time.
We both look like the same age and we both have to be fun people as we are on such a fun site. Here's looking to our new found friendship!!!

Thank you, Felix. He began physical therapy today ... and though he's sore, I can tell it made a difference in him both physically, and mentally :)

I am so happy you woke up with hope in your life, love in your heart and the love of your life still with you. That truly makes for the best birthday anyone could want. So though you weren't fishing for it, Happy Birthday anyway, and I hope the blessings continue to flow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I have what they call a weak heart and when I get old I will have to have a pacemaker, that is unless the lord heals me and I feel he already has :)

Thank you, Andria! Skip just got a pacemaker 3 weeks ago, also. Now, he is feeling much better. He did also, have a stroke and he'll go to physical therapy to help with his balance.
