Icy streets mean a dangerous day for driving, so I'm praying for my wife

I'm especially praying for my wife today. I have the privilege of working from home these days, but she has to drive to work. And today is not a good day for driving. Her job was on a two-hour delay due to icy roads. She left home a little earlier than two hours later than normal to give herself extra time, but even then the ice on the streets was still bad. Even our driveway was just a sheet of ice. Only a year ago my wife had an accident when she hit an icy patch on a highway while driving to work, and totalled her car. I'm not sure she has fully recovered from that, physically or psychologically. So, I'm praying extra hard today.

I'll pray with you, I know that this weather is dangerous, especially if you are in the mountains. No mountains near me, but I have to take back roads and the storm we got Sunday evening, I didn't go any faster than 25 MPH going home.

@RonElFran She might come across one of crazy drivers ahead when they crash their vehicle.

My wife drives slower in these bad conditions, but people keep whizzing by her as if the roads were perfectly dry. That's ok. I tell her to just keep driving at a speed she's comfortable with.

Better late than driving too fast for conditions to get there on time. Glad he got there ok.

I think we worry more for our loved ones than we do for ourselves. I hope your wife is ok.

You're exactly right. I guess when it's yourself, you feel more in control.

I do hope your wife gets to and from work safely. The conditions don't sound the best.
