No they do not have a national day to do a good deed. But that sure would be nice if they did and everyone would go around being nice to everyone else. I guess than you would have the ones who would want a day when every one is evil and can do evil things to others. Doing evil things sometimes is more fun than doing good deeds. Or maybe everyone of us just has a little evil in us and we need to be that way every once in a while.

We should always be on the lookout to do a good deed.

That's a good idea. It's just a pity that there is a need for it.

So sad that all people do not do good deeds just to do them.

I know I am basically evil, as I wrote about in my latest post, but I think every day should be good deed day.

I think that one should do a good deed as often as she or he can.

I think having a day where we did a good deed would be interesting but I am quite sure I could lie without the evil one.

A lot of the things in us that we may sometimes call evil, are actually needful impulses for us to live...they just get out of control. The rabbis called this "yetzer hara", and said that it is a tool from God, but needs to be tamed...like, glutonny we would say is not good...yet the hunger we feel, is a tool to remind us to eat, which is good. I think a day of national do gooding (so to speak) would be good to keep it in memory-it wouldn't mean we only do it once a year, but rather a day specifically to remind us. I think talking about things like this are helpful, because it can cause one to think about what goodness really is, and practical expressions of that-that can seem simple and maybe even childish...but the truth is it's so simple that I think it's easy to forget.

Having a good deed day would be a nice step forward. But doing good deeds shouldn't really be done in one day. Good deeds should be done everyday.

NO, I would not like to have a day when everyone is evil. As usual those more weak and without defense will be the ones who suffer.
