A report from David Newton of ESPN.com said on Tuesday the Carolina Panthers are expected to place the franchise tag on their corner back Josh Norman before March 1. Norman has played four seasons with the Panthers who will enter the 2016 National Football League season as the defending National Football Conference champions. Norman if he is granted the franchise tag will be paid about $13.7 million dollars for one year to remain with the Panthers during the 2016 football season. If the Panthers management feels that they can afford to pay Norman his market value to remain with the football team after the end of the 2016 football season, then they will work out a new contract to either re-sign Norman to a long term deal or decide to let him test the free agent market. Panthers general manager David Gettleman believes that his top priority to sign to long term deals defensive tackles Kawann Short and Star Lotuleilei before the start of free agency which begins next month.

I like David Gettleman and what he has done for our team. I think it is smart to put a tag on Norman and see how he performs this next season. This year was definitely a break out season for him. I think Josh likes it here in Carolina and won't fight the tag. He's a smart young man. I'm really curious as to who we are considering drafting. Have a blessed day.
