The rains have returned to Northern California!

After a couple of weeks of nice rain, we had absolutely nothing for about ten days. Last night, we had a nice, steady downpour, and the pavement outside is still wet, though I see sun peeking through the clouds. We need more rain if we're going to be rid of the drought that's had us in its grips for several years now. I hope our neighbors to the South got some rain as well. Any precipitation where you are?

We are having a very windy, rainy day here in western Oregon and that is okay. I talked to a friend in Van Nuys the other day and he said they have had very little and an article in the LA Times said that El Nino was not going to help southern Calif much.

Yes, the rain arrived in Los Angeles last evening and continued overnight. The system is clearing out now and the sun is emerging.

@JohnRoberts So far, the news about the snow pack has been good, I think.

@TheHorse You always get colder weather up north with more rain and snow. It's a desert down here. In terms of the drought, it's the snow pact that's vital.

I am happy for any rain or snow we get here for the same reason. I am so tired of all the fires around here every year.

It is still February though nearing end of it. Our rainy season starts in June and ends somewhere mid to end October, at times extending into november. While the season is long, the rainfall may not be sufficient. Usually, some places get inundated whereas others remain drought pone. Either way, we are short of water.

@TheHorse - it probably is. I just hope it moves through quickly. I just had to chase after an empty cookie box I was throwing away.
