Are you like me at all and let you mind wander to some of the fun and crazy things we did as kids. I really had a blast growing up and had a lot of friends that were with me. It is amazing how we never stayed in the house and played on any electronic games or devices. We never even heard of any of them. Games use to be played on a board and could get 4 or 5 players at the same time. If we were not playing games, we were outside on bikes or roller skates or just running around playing baseball or basket ball. Sometimes I feel so sorry for the kids today as so many go home after school and sit in front of a key board or the television. I am so glad I grew up when I did, I wouldn't have changed that for anything. We use to play cowboys and Indians and never worried about getting yelled at for playing with guns. Heck, I had my own cowgirl outfit and guns on a holster. We were outside after school and stayed out for hours until it was time to go inside and eat with the family. Something a lot of kids don't do any more either.

It certainly would be better if kids weren't allowed to have all thr gadgets that are out there. There wasn't such a thing either when I was a child, and we had just as much fun. We would ride our bikes, Orr roller skate, and we would also play a game of hide and seek. I would say that my childhood was just as much fun back then, as it is for the kids now that have all the gadgets. I would venture to say, that my childhood was better than those that are are children today.

@ramapo17 I know what you mean though about them being smart, as I have one grandson that is really smart. He knows a lot more than I do, when it comes to making things, as he will buy foam and make flying airplanes out them, where he puts a moter on it and such. He is only 16, and very smart for his age.

I agree with you but on the other hand, the things these kids of today know and do are so much more powerful than we ever did. I wish I had half the smarts as my grandsons. I am lucky as both my grandsons are into all the electronics but are also very active in sports. At least they do not sit in the house everyday after school unless it is raining. They go outside after school everyday and all day on the weekends. Both of them have part time jobs too.

@rosekiss It is so great to see kids with the minds and will power to make and create things. My oldest grandson, now 19, taught himself to roller skate in our driveway with skates we bought him one year for Christmas. He always wanted to play hockey and taught himself to skate so he could learn to play hockey,. He did it and now skates on his college hockey team. He is only in his first year college and was accepted to play and already is training to be a goalie which not every kid can do. When he is home on break, he works at the local hockey rink.

The kids today don't know what they missed. We were out from morning till night, and we were never bored.
