Glenn wanted us to go with him and his son to the outdoor shooting range yesterday at the hunting club he is a member of. Years ago when I was about 15 I shot a BB gun but that is the only time I ever shot a gun. I wasn't very interested but it was something to do and we were invited so I figured why not. If it had been shooting at animals I wouldn't have gone but it was just at targets. My son was scared at first so he watched everyone else do it for awhile and then eventually gave it a try. He loved it once he did it. He told me when we left that I should buy a bunch of guns and ammo then we could go shooting there. He and I did pretty well I think for as inexperienced as we were. I was terrible at figuring out which eye to keep closed and how to look through the scope. I was using it like a binocular. I took a photo of the coyote tacked to the wall there to add to this post.

Why Coyote? Why not go for something edible like a deer, elk or a rabbit? Are Coyotes killed for their fur alone? Is there chemicals used for preserving fur? I believe there is nothing with Hunting as long as the animal is not an endangered specie. Invasive animals like Lion Fish and Nutria should be hunted though because they harm ecosystems. They were edible too... oops I realized you are a Vegetarian, but I know vegetarians are different from Vegans.

Glenn likes to hunt and trap things. I don't care for things being killed for their fur I feel it is wasteful. As long as the animal is eaten I feel it isn't totally wasted. I have never heard of Lion Fish or Nutria. I will have to do a search to learn about them. The coyote that is in this photo was hung up on the inside of the shooting range thing for decoration. My son didn't kill it and I wouldn't have went if they were going to shoot animals. That is not something I would want to witness. I would be very sad.

The shells my son and I collected
I'm just glad my son didn't want to go hunting animals with them. I don't think I could bring myself to do it. I am a vegetarian for ethical reasons since I was 7. My son is a meat eater and wants to be a hunter someday. Oh boy lol. My son and I collected the shells from the bullets we shot as well and found lots of other peoples left behind. He put them in a tackle box of his. Some of them we are going to use in a geocache that we are going to be planting when it warms up. It will be hunting and fishing theme etc.

This is a very American post. I can't see a German mother going shooting with her son.

Hahaha if you knew me you would say the same thing about me. My mother messaged me yesterday from Florida and asked what I did on this nice day. I told her that my son and I went to a shooting range. She laughed and told me she could not picture me doing that. I really wasn't impressed with it to be honest. It was okay but to me I just thought it was loud and wasted money on bullets. My son would never go without me though so I needed to go with him. Plus I would be too nervous to send my 8 year old with someone else while shooting. I don't feel safe with him being without me at very many places even with family. I am a worry wart.
