Was Super Bowl 50 rigged?

I would really like to hear some of your thoughts. As someone who is not into sports, I didn't really have a dog in the fight (Broncos vs Panthers) despite the Panthers representing my home state. I noticed the game seem to stagnate from the start and I was telling my mother that if the Broncos reach 10 or above before the end of the second quarter the Panthers will have difficulty catching up. I hate I was right in my assumption. The Panthers were making careless slip ups and some claimed the ref was making more negative calls for one team (Panthers) and not the other (Broncos) and this ref was supposedly involved with the ball deflation scandal which involved the Patriots. Not to mention one quarter back was about to retire and to win the last Super Bowl you’ll ever play in would be bittersweet end. I took to social media and it wasn’t long before the question of rigging came up. I’ve heard both sides and it was disheartening but interesting to consider. What do you think?

Why would you say that? I didn't consider the game as stagnating, just the Bronco's defence taking control from the outset, it was the cause of their rapid defensive touchdown. They have been saying for 50 years that the offense may win the game but defenses win championships, this is a fine example of that. I have no axe to grind given my team went out in the wildcard round.

I suppose the Broncos defense must have been fierce because they blocked any action from the Panthers that would've made the game more interesting. For that sake of the game I hope it was just a good defense and nothing more. There were a lot of disappointed Panthers fans and a lot of money lost in bets given the fact that seemingly a lot of people thought they had it in the bag.

@Lanopop The Panthers had one opportunity, have the offense take control from the outset, then they would have walked over the Broncos. That didn't happen. I can see Panthers fans being disappointed at another Superbowl appearance as well in the near future.

The Broncos knew they were going to have to control Cam Newton @Lanopop with their defense and that's exactly how they won the game. Cam was sacked 7 times. Even though the Panthers have an excellent defense, they only sacked Manning 2c. And at the start of the 3rd quarter when Gano missed a field goal, that didn't help. I knew by the end of the 3rd quarter that if Cam couldn't run the ball, it was going to be all over. I wanted the Panthers to win..
