That Moment In Summer When...

That moment, in summer, when you are walking around barefooted in your home, it's night time and you're in the kitchen looking for a snack... And, you step on something hard on the floor, and you desperately hope to yourself that it is just a toasted breadcrumb that had somehow fallen on the floor, and not some ghastly bug (many horrific options running through your mind)! Anyone else ever had that moment? Because recently I did! Thank goodness, it was a freaking breadcrumb! I quickly hoovered the floor, and could breathe again!

I saw a big spider in our passage but was too lazy to do anything about him. I didn't forget about him though and this morning he was there again so I trapped him and put him outside. I didn't want to step on him either.

I never walk barefoot in my home, just to avoid scary moments.

@bluesa I do not feel safe walking barefoot, you can never know what is crawling on the floor.

@LadyDuck , it has just been too hot, but now I try to have my sandals nearby me. That was a nerve wracking moment.

@DianneN , tell me about it, I stopped breathing for a minute as certain images flashed in my mind. It has been so hot here though, tonight I have sandals on, Dianne. :-)

A bug, no...uh, but I have often stepped on a thumb tack;). Uh, let's just say, in a half sleepy state, it is much more effective then coffee or an alarm clock at getting one alert again:). Uh, in a horrible way;(.
