Happy March

Just a short word to wish all my Mylot followers a happy and sunny and just warm enough month of March. To me, the month of March is always such a welcoming time of the year. It is a time for hope. Hope that soon we will see some beautiful new growths. Sometimes, of course, March plays a trick on us and send us more snow. That is not welcome here.

I love the month of March and all the beautiful flowers that bloom in March. How do you call the flowers in the photo? We call them "ginestre" in Italy, but I do not know the English name.

These are forsythia bush. What's exciting is that branches can be brought inside and forced into early bloom. If the branches grow roots, plant in soil for another bush.

It was a bad winter's day today, the first of March or not. I cannot believe how bad it is outside. Hopefully it will pass and warm weather will come and melt all of the ice and snow away.

@marlina With the sun shining brightly, you can see how very thick the ice coating is on everything. I hope that it didn't do any damage to the fruit trees, I'm sure that the news will be covered with that if there was damage.

We had a very mild winter thankfully but I am glad that it will be over soon. I do not like cold weather at all. I cannot wait to get outside and be active with my children once the weather is nice. We have gone geocaching on the days where it has been nice. My son asked me what we will do after school today. I do not think we will be doing anything outside though as it doesn't appear that it will be as nice as it was the past few days.

I agree, I am looking forward to spring, but I see snow showers are in our forecast. However, as long as it isn't as bad as last year. Last year, (I think it was about mid-march) the storm that came through was bad enough our professor cancelled class. I am glad too, we were supposed to go outside that day.
