America, what are you doing? Trump is not just a fool, he is a dangerous man.

My god...my god. America, what are you doing? The below passage is from the Washington Post article linked below. "Trump has threatened the media, promising to “open up our libel laws” so he can more easily sue outlets that differ in their view of the truth about him.“I think the media is among the most dishonest groups of people that I’ve ever met. They’re terrible.” he said recently. Referring specifically to The Post, he added: “If I become president, oh, do they have problems. They’re going to have such problems.” "....Following allegations last year that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had killed several high-profile journalists, Trump responded, “He’s running his country and at least he’s a leader, unlike what we have in this country.”
Donald Trump would see his election as a mandate for his adolescent concept of strength.

I really can't comprehend that Trump should be elected by the people. It seems that he is so confident at this point of time. I am not sure if he is looking an attention to gain something from it.

@msiduri I agree. I think he tries to have this scheme to be the talk of the town and he had achieved it. I am pretty sure he will not going to win. Unless, he is going to use other means in buying the voters' vote. If ever he will win as a president in your country, his business will prosper more. I can still see the personal intentions of being rich to become richer.

@Shavkat I can't comprehend that it either. It's not a done deal by any means. I'm just amazed he's gotten this far. He should have been laughed out town long ago.

The Washington Post is an extreme liberal newspaper that is part of the liberal controlled media committed to destroying all Republicans and conservatives. If Cruz or Rubio were the front runner, there would a similar article bashing them. Trump is merely responding to the liberal media getting away with lie after lie. Example: Rolling Stone's fake rape expose in which the writer admitted fabricating. What do you think we have had for 8 years: a wanna be dictator who refuses to compromise and routinely defies the constitution with illegal exec orders and has his minions (IRS, Justice Dept) harass conservatives.

Does Rolling Stone count as a newspaper?

Surely the IRS and the Justice department have independence. If they pursue law breakers and tax evaders is that not a good thing?

She will be our next President I am sure. Qualified? Certainly more that any of the GOP bozos who are left, especially Trump and Cruz.

@JohnRoberts John they are all liars.Come on and you know this. Those days are gone.Look at all the others there. Are they not liars. You just hate Hillary that is yours. But I do not hate here.Hate is a terrible word for the mind. All of the politics are screwing around.Everyone is not an angel.Except me.

@amadeo Please do not call me a hater. I do not hate anyone. Have I ever used the word "hate." There is a different between expressing strong dislike with reasons than hate. Shame on you for labeling me a "hater." That is a common retort from liberals and a reason why those on the right are offended by liberals. I have read vicious hate speech about Trump on this very site.

In short, the answer is that Americans are fed up with the political establishment. The country is angry. Career politicians can't or won't wake up to the ills that are facing America. They keep smiling, and lying to us that everything is okay. Everything is not okay. The American people are tired of politics as usual. So, when someone like Trump comes along--good or bad--people want to rally around him. He is not part of the establishment. He is not a politician. He is not part of the broken system. So, whether people like him or not, they see him as a viable alternative to the establishment. I'm not condoning or supporting Trump in any manner here, but I understand the current sentiment of the people. Maybe this is the wake-up call the establishment needs. Politicians are supposed to exercise the will of the people, not the other way around. Politicians need to get back in touch with their constituents and the problems our country face. I hope Trump's popularity scares the sh*t out of them. They need a good slap in the face to help them wake up to what is going on in the country and in the world.

That's the main thing. People follow those that don't lie when they open their mouths. I remember people telling me they were voting for obama in 2012 because of the things he said. I asked them if they were aware that he wouldn't honor anything he said and they didn't care. It's time for someone to do what they say, and certainly that won't happen with other politicians. Do I think Trump is the man for the job? No, I don't think any of them are qualified.

@moffittjc I feel like this election is for whoever is more scum of the earth. I think popularity contests need to go, and the person that gets in has to prove themselves through rigorous tests and evaluations of skills and the way they handle themselves in tough situations. It's like how certain operators have to go through rugged simulators. Let's make a presidential simulator and put them in. See who scores highest over a certain interval. Let's see profile stats on each candidate like you'd see for a game character and give each a set budget to work with. Written and oral examinations, proof of strategy given games and such. We should treat it like it's a highly delicate machine (it is) and it needs an operator that won't crash it as soon as they step into the driver's seat.

@JohnRoberts Each political party elects their leader and the head of the winning party or biggest member of an unusual coalition becomes Prime Minister. There is no long drawn out and expensive campaign and the general public play no part. of course we do have lobbyists and corruption ,I suspect this exists everywhere

@JohnRoberts we don't have elections for PM. What we have is elections for government with the leader of the winning party becoming PM. We know way before an election who may be PM...it's more of a party thing in the UK than it is in the US. I do agree that many MP's are corrupt and that just makes people disinterested in politics.

You guys in the UK have your own "fun" elections for PM. Bought and paid for MP's. The UK is no less corrupt and silly as the US.

He is obviously right about newspapers because they value sales more than the truth. Of course politicians are not the most honest people either.

Trump does have a point when he talks about media bias @buttheadface932 . I am not a Trump fan at all BUT the media likes to stir up crap and literally pick and choose who the winner is going to be. A good example is not allowing Carson or Kasich 'equal' time on the podium. It's more fun for them to 'instigate' ridiculous head lines. I agree that Trump sounds off without thinking but it is the press who is the instigators. The press is no longer an unbiased entity.

@Auntylou Yes. Which is one of the reasons why I cannot wrap my mind around the idea of supporting this blowhard for such an important position. If nothing else, the drama overload we'd be subjecting ourselves to if he's in any sort of political position.

I'm no Trump fan as I do not like his business practices particularly his golf course in scotland. I don't think he's a diplomat and think he will damage US foreign relations BUT I think he does have points on certain issues and is tapping into many peoples fears.
