What will riding my bike do for me..

I like riding my bike as often as possible. Today,I was able to get out and ride my bike.. I am now wondering what will that help me gain as far as health wise. I want to lose weight and tone up if at all possible.. I can't sweat right about now with the coolness in the air. I can't ride that hard right now either. When I ride I feel the burn in my thighs. Sometimes I try to ride up hill and today I even stood up and petaled hard. Other times I had to get off the bike and walk. If I am not pushing hard but still riding do you think I will see results.. Thanks.
