I don't know if I should be hurt or angry!

My heart hurts, I just found out that a family member misunderstood something that I said and instead of asking me about it, he refuses to talk to me. It's been driving me crazy for a couple of weeks trying to figure out what's going on, finally someone else had to tell me. How are you supposed to work out a problem, if the other person won't even talk to you. Well after the tears and hurt, now my feeling are turning to anger., and I very rarely get angry. How do you deal with someone like this? I have no clue.

Let him have his space and then when he's in the mood to talk, that's when you explain.

Thanks, I guess that's what I'll have to do, unfortunately he's the kind that can stay mad for years and not talk to you...sigh.

I sometimes feel that people WANT to misunderstand and get mad, so they do. If he wanted a resolution he would speak with you.

The best way , is for you to talk heart to heart with the person on why he refuses to talk to you , At least , you two can give your sides . It cannot be remedied when it will not be talked about . Perhaps it's about time that it be talked about .

@lilnana1111 Just wait for that time when he / she is already a bit open already .

Yes, that would be nice, but it's a little hard to talk to someone when they won't talk to you.

This person shows to be a bit stupid. How can someone refuse to speak to you for a misunderstanding? Just ignore the person.

It's just amazing out out of control something so little escalated into such a big mess.

I would either ignore the person for being so stupid, or ask another member of the family to step in and explain.

I don't have to give him the silent treatment, he won't talk to me.

It is almost impossible to deal with it if the other person will not talk to you. Otherwise, you need someone who can communicate with that person how you feel about the matter.

You hit the nail on the head, he is impossible.

It's obviously something that won't resolve itself, and if he won't talk to you perhaps a family member could explain the misunderstanding. Just remember that he is probably hurt too at the imagined slight, (or whatever it is), so anger is only going to make things worse.
