Don't Shake The Bottle Right Before You Use It

Yep, don’t shake the 2-liter bottle of pop right before you open it. It goes everywhere. Don’t know why I did that. It went all over the carpet and the countertop. My sock even took a hit from it. I guess I wanted to make sure it was mixed up good. Not a good idea with soda unless you do it and wait for a bit. It was not fun to clean up. It’s very sticky. There was even some on the stove. I won’t do that again for a long time.

Not really a good idea to shake the bottle before opening it. Total mess

I shake my coconut water. No problems. If it exploded upon opening, I'd probably be glad I didn't drink it.

@jstory07 Yup! I wasn't home! Rare occasion where I was at a conference (for Compulsive Gambling) while she went to the Casino in the morning. Apparently susan wanted to add a new challenge to her day!

We don't buy that size, but any size will 'explode' My husband knocked over a small diet coke of mine and I went to grab one - he said open it over the sink - it shot all over me and the counter - it doesn't take much to cause quite a mess.

We would intentionally shake them to spray each other when I was a teenager.

I wouldn't have wanted to be that sticky, even as a teen!

Hey, at least it was mixed good, eh? Yeah, that stuff's a pain to clean up...all that sugar in it...dropped a case of 24 bottles of Dr Pepper while stocking a cooler years back when bottles were still glass, broke half of them, took forever to get the junk off of the cooler floor

@Jessicalynnt No, I guess I wanted to make sure it was mixed up. You know how they say to shake the bottle so the stuff's not all settled at the bottom. I was just not thinking and should have waited a few minutes after doing that.

I thought maybe you mistook it for a very large ketchup bottle.

@Susan2015 You're probably safe, so long as the top doesn't fly off.

lol I hate it when that happens. I learned at a early age, because Grandpa would always get mad.

I know the feeling. Shaking the pop will spill more than a drop.

I can always use a reminder like that. I will remember "no shaking" of the soda.

Guess you learned a lesson the hard way. I remember once using this as an illustration in Children's Church, on anger. How it can build up inside us until suddenly we explode. Of course we had put towels down to protect the floor.

I am often tempted to shake the bottle if someone else is going to open and drink it, but never my own.

What was there to shake. I only shake medicines before I take them.
