Mangoes will soon be in season

We have 4 mango trees. Just about 2 will hopefully yield this year. I already see some signs. It will take some time for them to be ready. But in some places they are available. At this time they will be expensive but may be a month later the prices will go down. Mangoes in the image are from our garden. They are known as benet alphonso What we get is just enough for us. The surplus is used to prepare mango pulp which when frozen remains fresh for months. Do you get mangoes where you live?

@allknowing Are they benet or benefit as you put it earlier? Either way they have quite a unique name that I've never heard of before...

Despite mangos being fairly popular in England, I cannot recollect ever eating one. I have had mango juice as a drink, but never tried an actual mango.

@allknowing I will be wandering into the city centre shortly and will be passing several fruit and vegetable vendors. I may end up looking if there are any mangos on sale because I am interested in trying one now.

Yup, O have got two trees in my own home. I hope they yield this year but even if they don't, my neighbours and relatives always give us some in exchange for jackfruit and such.

The joy of eating fruits grown in our own gardens is different. So you too have mango trees. What mangoes are those. We have jackfruits and many other fruits too.

I do. They're from a friend's trees. Not sure what kind they are or if they're from the same of different kinds.

@allknowing That one smells sooo sweet... I don't know if it's the ripe form of the green one or what. But the two are quite different in sizes.

We can buy them in the shops but they're not my favourite fruit. It's a good idea to freeze the pulp.

I love mangoes. I can get them around here but they will not be in season for a few more month. You should post pictures of your tree. I have never seen a mango tree.

Yes I love them. I don't care much for the haitian mangoes because of the texture that stringy meat it makes me feel like hair in my mouth.
