When I was a young girl my family belonged to the Bavarian Club, they needed children to do a traditional German folk dance called the Schuhplattler. I hope I have spelled that correctly. We would meet and learn the steps and we even competed in another city and won second place. Wow were us kids ever happy we had lots to eat in this other city, it was a beautiful park and we danced our hearts out. Photo from Wikipedia

@TiarasOceanView It was a lot of fun and we did travel to the other city around 220 miles away and my first time there. There were both girls and boys doing the dance. We were so proud to have won second place.

I know the Schuhplattler because this is also the folk dance of the Tyrol, in northern Italy.

@LadyDuck I thought this was only in Germany, I had no idea it was the folk dance in Northern Italy. Like I have said many times you will learn something new on here almost every day.

That's a nice memory for you. Do you have German ancestry?
