I'll be back to bore you on May 21, 2016.
I received a Save the Date email from my daughter-in-law for a tap dance recital in New York City. We missed my granddaughter's first recital last year, but you can bet your tap dance shoes I'll be there this year!
This isn't your run of the mill recital. From what we were told, it's the best dance studio in New York City. The dancers perform on stage in a theater, tickets must be bought in advance (the price is steep), the shows are amazing, and most of the dancers go on to dance professionally.
My little granddaughter is only there to improve her rhythm for ice skating performances. However, she loves it and is always the point dancer.
Included in the email was this photo of her on Ivivva's Instagram page, an outfitter of all ice skating warmup clothes, modeling while practicing figure skating.
So save the date. I'll let you know how the show is!

@MarymargII We are all proud of her and her slightly younger brother. How could anyone not be proud of their grandchildren's accomplishments, no matter how small or how big? Lol! Thanks so much, again! Hugs for that.

She was discovered at practice by someone from the theater. She had to audition, but got the part of an Indian in Peter Pan, Off Broadway. It was awesome to see her in that. Perhaps one day she will perform for you on your cute little stage!

Sorry, I should have explained. I didn't know myself until last year. The lead position. Last year she also did synchronized ice skating with girls two years older. She was the best skater, so she always was up front. The girls followed her lead when to begin, etc... No one took her spot on the stand when they won first place. The point gets to stand on number one, and the others cram around her. Lol! Her coach, the male one, won't allow her to do synchronized skating anymore. I think it's a shame, but it's different than figure skating.

I won't be able to take photos during the show. The theater won't allow it, but will try to get some in her costume. I must admit that she is a pip. Her energy and enthusiasm seems to get her where she wants to be, plus her cuteness. Lol! Many thanks. My younger son, btw, lives not far from Savin Rock!

With everyone being so busy these days, we've gotten save the date cards for weddings, my daughter-in-law's wedding shower, and even for pool parties. Crazy, but necessary. I can't wait to see her tap dance. I only saw a little when she was in Peter Pan. I think she's my social life up north.
