Do you watch more than 8 hours of television on certain days or evenings?

I sometimes watch a lot of television. It's because most of the good shows air about the same time and while we watch one channel, the DVR records another channel. Between some of the recorded shows and live T.V. and the news I think I sometimes watch more than 8 hours in a single day. I think this is a bit excessive. But for some reason I have gotten used to watching lots of t.v. Do you sometimes think television is running your life or perhaps your cell phone or computer is doing a good job of this? Or do you think it's all under control and that you could pull the plug at any time but you just don't want to?

I watch tv here and there but never for 8 hours straight unless I am sick in bed and can't do anything else.

I believe I have a television addiction of some sort. I have watched t.v. all my life. It used to be my baby sitter when I was old enough to set in front of the black and white and watch Captain Kangaroo and Cookla, Fran & Ollie.

It is impossible for me to stay away from the thing. If I am not watching broadcast television I am watching Hulu or YouTube. It's like that for me.

Except for sports, I don't watch much TV. I do like some shows, like South Park, House, Breaking Bad, and Seinfeld reruns, but I tend to watch them with friends.

I can't watch t.v. with friends because they either talk too much or tell me to hush when I try to talk and it becomes rather annoying. I like it better with my wife or watching YouTube videos or Hulu shows alone at my PC.

My husband has the tv on from the time he gets up at 6am until he goes to bed at 8. He actually goes to bed at 8 but puts the tv on in there so I can have my shows I tape everyday. I have been watching Days of Our Lives for almost 50 years and love recording it even if I am home so I do not have to watch commercials. I also record a few day shows like Dr Oz, Dr Phil and Ellen. I also record some night shows so I can stay on here and watch the other shows when I have time. I also record and exercise show and do that when I have time to. How about you, do watch a lot of tv?

@lookatdesktop I think I am friends with your twin brother. Everything you say and even look like him. He lives in Pennsylvania and you are in Texas. I would say that is pretty close, hahaha.

im spending a lot of time with my phone. its really not a problem with the rest of the gang here. my parents are already busy with their work by the time i wake up. the kids are in school during weekdays. im just left alone with my phone. i get to talk to them at the end of the day though at least for an hour. then back to my phone..
