Friday night and corn beef and cabbage is on the menu here. With all the fixing.Do you think that they have in Ireland.I was told the meal there is mutton and not corn beef? Another night of my apple pie. What type of apples do you use there. I was not too happy with granny smith? Have a good night.By the way the meal was excellent. photo.Public domaine

Granny Smith are not good to make pies, the best apples for baking are Honeycrisp, Pink Ladies and Golden Delicious.

Glad you enjoyed your dinner. I am not keen on Corned beef but the cabbage is good.(I am not vegetarian) Irish stew is beautiful and is made with neck of lamb.

I never had corned beef in Ireland. Last night was pizza for us from a new restaurant in town. Not bad, but not good.

I use gala apples for apple pies, they are sweeter than grannys.
