I Made up My Christmas List Today

When Christmas rolls around, my kids always ask me what I want and I can never think of anything other than chocolate! While chocolate is always good, as a pre-diabetic, I have to watch how much I consume... so I took a sheet of paper and stuck in on the fridge.Whenever I think of something... I write it down. Today I thought of two things... pretty note pads and stickers. My daughter thought that I was crazy until I told her why I wanted them. I have decided to write down things that I am grateful for on a small piece of paper, date it and then add a few stickers to fancy it up. These little pieces of paper will go into my ongoing gratitude box to be handed down to my descendants that come after me. As a genealogist, I wish that I had such a box filled with mementos of my ancestors... even if just one great grandmother. Just to handle a little piece of paper that she had written her thoughts would be amazing. I want to do just that for someone to read a few hundred years from now. Today's gratitude note, mentioned a niece that I had received an email from, hearing my husband's laughter, a high school friend named Judy who is always ready to listen when I need to talk and a cousin. I wonder what my great great great granddaughter will think as she is reading MY words??

It definitely makes me sit back and think about what I have instead of thinking about what I want! :) I hope that my descendants wonder what kind of a woman that I was. :)

Christmas is a long way to go this year. My granny does this and have a notebook and write things up her plans for the whole year. I must say a bucket list for her to have. By the way, she is 98 and still strong.
