Hey guys, I myself am an aspiring flautist from India. I am trying to learn the traditional Indian classical flute music. We play on the bamboo flute. How many flautists are there on myLot??? It would be a great platform to know about the musical journeys of all of you...

@yashvino,I love flute being played.Often I enjoy performances by Hariprasad Chowrasia, the great flautist on the internet.I also want to learn how to play flute, but here in this small town there are no good music gurus from whom to learn.

I myself haven't played flute. It reminds me of lord Krishna, who played flute in his youth.

I played the flute in elementary/middle school but I don't anymore as band took up too much of my time. The hardest part is the beginning! Once you can get an even sound it gets much easier. Vibrato is also really hard, but that generally comes later. Good luck!

Very rightly said...producing the first soothing even sound is the toughest..rest comes easily...I personally also feel glissando to be tough too...
