Recently a friend of mine had a few dizzy spells and feelings of nausea for no apparent reason...., We found out he had a very mild form of vertigo... called BPPV..... Which is Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). It is a disorder formed in the inner ear. It's symptoms are a spinning sensation caused by changes in the position of the head. While doing research for the treatment  of this problem, we found a very helpfull video on you tube called the Epley manoeuvre. It is a few simple head movements, that help the crystals go through the ear canal which eliviate the unpleasant, vertigo like symptoms ...., click on the link below for more information and a short video showing you how to do the movements.   BPPV is the most common cause of the symptoms of vertigo. It can occur when small crystals travel through the ear canal. ..for a much fuller explanation go to Wikipedia, it is easy to understand too, We found it very helpfull.... I hope you will too... Epley Maneuver to Treat BPPV Vertigo: While you can do the exercise / manoeuvre yourself, you can also get someone to help you.... so I helped my friend ...., the movements do sometimes bring on the symptoms ...., but that's good, because it means it's working...., his symptoms were mild compared to some peoples ...., and only lasted a minute or so, but he said it helped...., so hopefully it might help some of you too.

No it's not new, Doctor Epley first described this maneuver in 1980.

@sueznewz2 Thank you, you're so sweet. I have been up since about 4am coughing, when I try to doze off my breathing gets difficult. I feel as bad today as I did on Saturday. Sunday wasn't too bad of a day, hopefully tomorrow will be an improvement. My muscles are sore from coughing if you can imagine.

Thank you for sharing. My sister had a bad case a couple of years ago, and her doctor taught her some exercises to do which really helped.

@sueznewz2 I remember having it once years ago, and was unable to drive for several weeks. I did not know about the exercises then, just had to wait it out.

I have a recurring condition of vertigo but it's a virus and comes around every 6 months or so. It is a problem with the inner ear and does cause vertigo. I treat it with anti-virus oregano oil drops and I do my own ear candling which helps a great deal. I'll take a good look at this info though- and thanks for it.

There are different kind of vertigo, sometimes it depends by a not fluid enough liquid in the labyrinth. My husband suffers of this problem from many years, his doctor showed me the right maneuver when he is so sick he cannot even get out of the bed.

That is the best video I've seen. I have had BPPV several times. My doctor saw me the first time and let me know what was happening and suggested going on line to learn how to do the maneuver. it worked like a charm but i had to do it a few times, This video is really good...

Very interesting. It has been many years since I suffered from a vertigo problem that for me lasted three days. I wish I knew about this treatment then, though I wonder if it would have been enough since what I suffered was severe.

I get slight dizziness from my inner ear, too, but only once in a while. Since I know where it comes from, I make sure to monitor things to make sure it's not getting worse. If that happens, I'll be sure to alert my doctor. Thanks for some great information!
