Time to start BBQing....

One thing I love about the warm weather is having a nice BBQ. I love grilling out on the BBQ as often as I can once it becomes warm enough to stand outside long enough. I know some people will still grill out in the cold, but I don't like being out in the cold, so I won't. hehe. I have already cracked open the grill a couple weeks ago and have grilled everything from chicken, hamburgers, pork chops and steak. Monday's are nights that I always grill no matter. And tonight I decided to grill up something different then what I normally make. I am making spicy black bean burgers. I have had them many years ago so I know I will like them. I am having them with a side of brussel sprouts, and Parmesan angel hair pasta. Sounds like a meal to me.... What are you or did you have for dinner?

Barbecues are okay but it depends who's cooking. Some people seem to cremate everything they put on a barbecue.

@T_gray It's always great to have supportive friends - especially if you've just burnt her dinner! :)

I admit that I am still learning. I just started my grilling life two summers ago. So some days are better then others for me. And some foods I can cook better then others. My best friend is amazing though as she is very supportive with if I totally destroy something....

I had barbecues two days ago. It's so hard to grill here since the weather itself is too hot. But it's worth it.

Sounds so good Tiff. Are they made with ground beef and black beans then? I love to bbq but have not done in years. Where I live there is a balcony but we are not allowed to bbq up here and of course that makes sense with the fire risk. My fav bbq marinade is soy sauce and garlic on chicken. We just had home made spaghetti and I always love the sauce w parmesan, mushrooms, onions, and beef.

It is made with black beans. There is no meat at all. It is a vegie burger in a way but with black beans. It is super good. I feel in love with them when I first had them. Your marinade sounds amazing. So does your spaghetti sauce. i am getting hungry again. Might be time for some left overs...hehe

I have been managing to work around some semi high winds here. The propane grill still stays lite pretty good. We are in a fire ban but the news said we could still light a grill, I made sure of that.

Not sure about supper yet but will figure that out very shortly. We haven't had a grill here in ages. We do have an indoor grill type thing that we've used on occasion. Nothing beats a grilled hot dog or burgers on the grill though.

I think I agree with both of you. The taste is off grilled hot dogs and burgers is amazing. I do use propane so no lighter fluid. But I do understand the risk of carcinogens. But I also believe that more then half the food I eat is going to give me cancer in one way or another. There is only so many ways to avoid it. I don't want to stop eating those foods. Trust me, I hear it from my mom everyday that I shouldn't be eating anything dairy or eating meat. But I respect her decisions and everyone's else on what they want to eat...ya know?
