The Most Hurtful Thing Family Ever Did

So whether they meant to or not, what is the most hurtful thing your family has ever done "to you"? It might be immediate family, or it might be just one side of the family. I was blown away today when I discovered something, and I felt heartsick. I'm giving myself a little time to try to change perspective before I bring it up to the family members it involves. One family member I believe wanted me to find out, so they found a creative way for me to discover it. I'm all ears for your stories!

Oh dear Ambie..I dont like to hear you are heartsick. I care about you friend. I know you will say if you want to, if not its okay. Oh my family..lets see..they have ousted me, sort of disowned me at one point, when I most needed them and it was not my fault what happened to me. It hurt and still to this day, it is conveyed that I am not part of..long story and it hurts me deeply..along with my son. I know how this can be. Big hugs to you.

My dad was a countrydoctor and a stern bitter man. My sister had a cold and was just 6 to ny fifteen years He was trying to put his homemade pine oil nose drops into my lttle ssters nose and she was screaming no no it hurts. That stuff burned like fire and a few months later was taken off the market. I told him it was not good it burned and he yelled at me "I wish you had never been born" I was so hurt and i never forgot that ever. Now they know yo u do not use pine oil in peoples noses

Oh, Hatley. That is terrible. I wish I could go back in time and erase that from your memory.

Dad treated us like prisoners and mom treated us like a pet, she never listens. As if we have no right to speak. They never cared about our feelings. Glad they feed us when we were young.

@AkoPinay. the way I observed to your parents, they are authoritarian persons, they like to mandate people without listening to us but that is their way of disciplining us, that was before.

Dear friend, I would suggest that you bring it up to the family members involved and sort things out, and get done with it. It will help you move on without any more heartsickness. Fortunately, I've never experienced any thing like this from my immediate or extended family.

Whatever that is? I felt ill when my mother's sister tried to steal my grandfather's farmland. We are still dealing with it until now. My family and I never done something bad for her to grudge.

I think my most hurtful was when my brother-in-law took advantage of our situation in our house and promised to fix it only to leave the house with no siding (among other things) and winter was coming. We are still feeling the effects of his poor workmanship.

I can't think of anything offhand. I'm sorry if you are having issues with family in this way.
