They came, they saw, they painted

United States
March 15, 2016 11:39am CST
The painters showed up yesterday morning, just 5 minutes late, not bad at all! They worked until about 3:15. They took a lunch break and a few cigarette breaks, but other than that they worked! Quite different from painters we hired 5 years ago for a different home. Today they showed up about 10:15 or so, finished up and left about noontime. The young man, the assistant, had a lot of fun with our fancy vacuum cleaner sucking up dog hair from behind some of the furniture that hand't been moved since we moved in. That's one way to get spring cleaning started! They did good work, the price was very fair and I would certainly recommend them. I need to go on Home Advisor and provide my glowing comments. All's well that ends well! Photo:pixabay.com/en/brush-paint-blue-can-color-293943/

Judging by the discussion title it sounds as though Julius Caesar was the painter. This would be quite appropriate since today is the Ides of March.

@AbbyGreenhill Surely there are many US residents who are descended from Italian immigrants. In fact, Julius Caesar visited England, so he may have met a local girl and one of his descendents could have been on the Mayflower.

@Asylum Was Ceaser very tall? This guy is so short he has to stand on a ladder to reach the baseboard!

Julius Caesar - his guy is originally from Ohio so I don't think so LOL

@AbbyGreenhill That is good. I remember in my younger days, helping to paint a room and the smell of paint affected me.

Thank you - and the paint smell wasn't bad.

They finished yesterday at lunch time. Our house got lighter with all the dog hair they sucked up along the way LOL! That's one way to get some spring cleaning done. Now we have other cleaning and putting rooms back together - they moved all the furniture to do the baseboards. We have to go out soon so we're putting off doing that for a day. they did a good job and for a reasonable price.

My dad just painted our bathroom ceiling. Can't use the shower for few days until it is dried properly. At least it was done for free :D

Sounds like a successful story of the painters painting. Did you paint the inside of your home?

One bedroom, repaired one wall in the garage and painted it and removed a few 'decals' the original owner put up and fixed those walls. Today was fixing the baseboard..the baseboard is wood, was never sanded and sealed so dust/dog hair sits/stick to the top of it - they sanded it all down and sealed it. That was today's job.
