They say life begins at 40.
I say how come. What is the difference when we are still 30, 40 or 50? One thing for sure that changes is the physical aspect in our life and the number that adds every year. Physically, our body and health changes. Some say you get a lot of diseases or disorders when you get 40. Well, it is for me to find out if this are all true.
Because today I turn 40!
Do you celebrate it big or small? Some of my friends celebrate it big like it is a milestone or something but I prefer celebrating is simply with my family.
Happy birthday to me @40!!!

Yes each decade brings its own challenges and rewards.
Stay healthy is the main goal.

Happy Birthday to you. Wait till you reach fifty then you will know about health matters. Don't dwell on it though live your life as if it is your last day!

If life begins at forty, then you have wasted your life up until that point. If you are not living your life every single day, then it is a wasted gift.

@rakski Yes, I have heard the saying. I think that people started using it, because many tend to value youth but think you lose that value as you age. Forty is far from old, and I think it is a way of remind people of that fact.

@rakski I am actually 56, but because you said that life begins at 40, then 56 minus 40 is 16, so I am sweet 16.

To me my life ended at 30 lol.last 10 years have not been kind to me, all the downs you can have I've had.
At some point i just gave up, then said to myself, if l cant defeat it, im going to learn how to live with it.
That opened doors to a new me,l accept things as they are, l do not try to fight what l can't win and since then,l might not be well but im more accepting and this gives me energy.

wow, good for you, you learn to accept things as they are though difficult. I am glad to know you were able to go through those tough times. I think that there will always be tough and tougher times in our lives. It is relies on the way we see our lives and the challenges that comes along with it

@miniam good for you that you have accepted yourself and what has fate brought you. It is wise that you go with the flow and not against it. you are right, some days, it may be good and some bad but at the end of the day, what matters most is how you deal with it.

Thanks,l did not have a choice really, if l kept concentrating on feeling sorry for myself, it could have only destroyed me.
Taking the path l took, l appreciate the good days, accept the bad and hope for a better day next or the day after

Happy 40th birthday to you !
We should always celebrate our birthdays because we are giving thanks to God for letting us receive that age . Though , it doesn't necessarily in a costly way . A simple one will do .
As to saying life begins at 40 it is really a wonderment to me as to why is that so ?

Turning 40 can feel like a new lease on life in some ways. You are truly a grown-up now. Health issues don't really creep up yet for most people. Many people feel a little freer because their kids are grown or almost grown. Happy 40th Birthday to you!

So, you are 40 today! Life REALLY begins at 40! It is because for men - - They start to prove they are still young at heart and start to WINK at sexy women. For women - They start to prove that they are still young and can still attract handsome old men (like me), so women start to get sexy and feel young again. But wait! In every rule there is an exception. . . . In this case, you may be an exception!
