I Have a Shoe Fetish

Hi. My name is Jeff. I'm a shoeaholic. I have a shoe addiction!
About two years ago, my girlfriend bought me a pair of Sperry Top-Siders for my birthday. Growing up as a kid, I had always loved wearing boat shoes, but over the years I slowly ended up wearing sneakers or dress shoes more, and boat shoes less. Anyway, I fell in love with the Sperry's my girlfriend bought for me, so she got me a second pair for Christmas that year.
Around that same time, her brother, who is on the US Olympic sailing team, landed Sperry as a major sponsor for their racing team. We celebrated by buying a third pair of Sperry's!
Well, here we are two years later, and I am up to nine pairs of Sperry's! I just love them, and aside from the dress shoes I have to wear to work, I pretty much only wear boat shoes now! I just want to keep buying more, as I love how they look and feel, as well as the quality workmanship that goes into them!
As I sit hear typing this post, I am looking down at the brand-new pair of Sperry's on my feet that I bought tonight! Yes, I'm sitting at home on the couch still wearing my Sperry's! I may just be tempted to sleep with them on tonight, that's how much I love them! lol
Okay, so I'm going a little overboard! But really, I have to figure out how to break myself of this shoe habit! I'm like a junkie in need of a fix!

I get so excited when I find a good pair of Sperry's on sale, but then after I get them I'm like, "why the heck did I just buy another pair of shoes?" Then I feel slightly guilty. And then, because I feel guilty, I make myself feel better by buying more shoes! It's a vicious cycle! lol
Seriously though, I'm not really that bad. The only reason I ended up with nine pairs is because I came across deals that were too good to pass up. I think I currently have just about every style I would want from Sperry, so I'm not really in any hurry to go out and buy more pairs.

@JamesHxstatic I've got a buddy of mine who collects pairs of Air Jordan basketball shoes. He wears them one or two times, and then puts them away in his closet. He must have over 50 pairs! Air Jordans are the only shoes he'll wear. but he'll never wear the same pair for very long because he doesn't want them to get dirty, scratched up, or ruined!

Us men are just as bad with shoes, but usually it's a collection of basketball shoes, or running shoes for us! lol

i love shoe shopping. i cant even count the pairs i have. i love doll shoes, ive got some high heeled shoes too but i seldom wear them.
for now, that obsession is on hold due to my leg injury haha. but i guess thats one thing il do when i get to walk again.

I love shoes too and purses. But more purses than shoes lol. I can't help it either.

That is so true! I'm like that with my dress shoes and running shoes. I will wear them until they literally fall off my feet. I don't know why I don't do the same with my Sperry's. But the nice thing is, my son is only a year or two away from being able to fit into my shoes, and then at that point he'll probably end up borrowing all my pairs, and then somehow, slowly over time, those Sperry's will somehow end up being his shoes!

My boyfriend has more shoes than me lol I think it's fine for someone to love something they wear and take pride in them.
Maybe we need to throw you in a locked room for awhile to try and ween you off shoes!

Once you find something comfortable, you might as well stick with it. I don't like wearing shoes and wear only sandals as much as I can get away with.

I have a pair of leather sandals that are my absolute favorite. If I were able to wear those in every possible situation, it would be the only pair of shoes I owned! But second only to my sandals are the comfort I feel when I"m wearing my Sperry's.

I do think that we have our own preferences into something. My father likes collecting so many shoes. But it really cannot beat the record of our former first lady in the Philippines, Imelda Marcos. She is a certified shoeaholic person.

Those Sperrys are some really cool bebops. I have an old pair around and used to have two. Maybe some counseling would help, though...I mean, nine pair? I wear size ten if you have an in with that sailing team guy.

The funny thing is, I haven't even approached the sailing team guys about getting free Sperrys. They're off sailing the world getting ready for the Olympics. But I do know that they get tons of free Sperrys!

I had thought about getting boat shoes at one time, but I ended up not getting them. My great-aunt loves them.

My son went into my closet tonight and counted all my shoes! I have 37 paris, including boat shoes, dress shoes, running shoes, and tennis shoes/sneakers. There's also a couple of pairs of work boots as well. I think I'm going to need to join a support group to help me deal with my shoe addiction! haha
