Like the title says.. this is a challenge for you, the reader of this post to write about a good friend you've had.. and a good friend you've lost.. along the way. Rule: This can be a story, a poem, or any format you like. But it must be more than 5 sentences long! Here is mine first: There was a friend I had on here, A friend who was dear. I enjoyed a laugh with, Who was real, and not just a myth. There was a friend I had on here, A friend who disappeared. I've been waiting for him to come back, His absence has been felt by the pack. There was a friend I had on here, A friend who's brought us so much cheer. It's sad that he felt he had to go, I'm sorry I wasn't here when you felt so slow. There was a friend I had on here, A friend who disappeared. I'll still be waiting for you to come back, And when you do, you'll get a smack! - Lol! Still can't believe you legged it!

I had a friend in the past, One whom I still miss, Our relationship didn't last, Even after we'd kissed. It wasn't once, twice or three, It was many times every day, Oh how much she meant to me, Until that day she was taken away. After that I was lonely and sad, I couldn't hope to write or call, When you're young it's too bad, To recover from love's fall. (A poem about my first girlfriend in Kindergarten. She moved away in 1st grade and then the playground days weren't so full. I didn't kiss anyone again until high school.)

@Drosophila Thank you. I thought it was different from my usual poem style, so I enjoyed it.

I'm sure he will contact you. He just needed a breather. Once in a while, we all do. I am still trying to figure out how to run away from my kids for just five minutes to go to the bathroom by myself. LOL

There she was. Smart, funny and amazing. She moved away and I lost yet another friend. We kept in touch. It was one email every week in the beginning. Then it turned to months. Then to special occasions. I never forgot her birthday and she never remembered mine. Then it stopped. I contacted her but received nothing in return. So I let it go. Maybe I was foolish to think we would be friends even after she moved thousands of miles away. Our friendship doesn't matter now and neither does she. (She was my friend in the 5th grade, I kept in touch with her until my 9th grade. Now, 4 years later, it doesn't matter. She was like a sister to me but I learnt to let it go. )
