Kayak Adventures

My son is always on an adventure. Now that he Stout, his puppy, Stout goes along on all of them. William got a kayak for Christmas and has been champing at the bit to take it out. Now, he has never been in a kayak as far as I know and I can say for certain that six month old Stout has not been, so I was a bit worried when he decided that yesterday was the day to finally christen it.
The weather was fine, it was seventy degrees but I am sure in Ohio, the river water was still cold so I was mostly worried about Stout trying to jump out but I need not have. Stout enjoyed the ride as much as my son! These two are already great buds. It made my heart happy to see the pictures of them both having a great day on the water.

My last time in a Kayak was at Lake Tahoe in 1966. It was much smaller and so tippy I never went again. I love a small sail boat however, but even that has been too long ago. A cruise ship is more my speed these days.

Nor I. I think they are a pretty tippy vehicle and I'm glad Stout has a life jacket!

Stout was so hyper at Christmas I had my doubts he would stay in the kayak but my son said that was an odd thing and normally he is very calm.

Stout is a great looking dog and looks completely at peace in the kayak. You can tell how alert Stout is by the look in his eyes.

William used to train security dogs so Stout is very lucky to be a well behaved dog!

I gather that is Stout in the photo. Doesn't he look important? Dogs bring their owners such great times. I love watching dogs surfing too and riding skateboards. It's pretty awesome to have such a companion.
