Catching up on Television

Our lives have been crazy for the past two weeks ... between travel and then having a daughter and her fiance show up immediately after we returned home, we have been incredibly busy. We have barely had our television on for the past two weeks. Now, our DVR is 99% full and I noticed that some of the shows that were recorded in the past have already been bumped off. Tonight, my husband and I are trying to catch up on some of our favorite shows. I did manage to watch the finale of "The Bachelor" the other night. Right now, we are watching "CSI Cyber." We just watched "NCIS New Orleans." We may also watch one episode of "Elementary" before we go to bed. I feel like we are binging, but that is what happens when we go so long without watching much TV. Do you ever binge on TV?

When I am on my teenage years, my eyes were always staring at tv screens. Now I am always at my phone listening to podcast or reading an ebook :) But I can passed on the habit of watching the Survivor and Amazing Race. haha!

Sometimes, but not often. I do like watching episodes of some shows one right after the other, so the storylines continue without a break.

Yes, that does make it easier, sometimes, to watch shows in order.

@ElizabethWallace - We have done that a few times, too, especially when we know the story is going to be carried on during the next episode.

@DeborahDiane Sometimes when an episode is over, I am bummed that I have to wait a week to see the next one. Watching several in a row, means that there are fewer of those moments.

I think a lot of younger people just download the shows they want to see.

The closest we have come to a TV binge was this week when we watched all ten episodes of the second season of "Bosch" on Amazon. It is, I think, the best show I have seen in a while. It could not be on a network though, since it is definitely R rated.

@DeborahDiane I read that book and it was fascinating. Time travel always interests me.

@JamesHxstatic - I enjoyed that book, too. It was interesting how he kept trying to change the past in different ways, and then did not like the repercussions. Very thought-provoking.

I always loved those books. I think we would enjoy Bosch. My husband and I will have to check it out ... if we ever run out of the other shows we have recorded! I also want to start watching the Stephen King series 11/23/63.

I've afraid we rarely watch TV at the best of times and we don't record anything so there is no fear of us bingeing. We do like to watch a show on Sunday nights though.

That is so good of you not to overdue the TV. I mostly watch while I am writing. I know that sounds crazy, but I don't have any trouble doing both at the same time.

@JudyEv - Before I wrote online, I often read novels or did Soduku while watching TV. I find it really hard to just sit and watch TV, too.

@DeborahDiane I often do puzzles while I watch. For some reason I find it really hard just to sit and watch.

@T_gray - We love using a DVR, too. We hardly ever watch TV shows when they are actually on anymore.

yes.. a lot. I tend to watch shows when the last episode for the season has already aired, since i hate waiting week per week

I used to watch series in AXN and Anime at night, but recently they change format so i turn in to jack tv. unfortunately, i kept missing episodes that I ended up watching it in replays.

Yes, I miss episodes sometimes, and that makes it confusing to watch a show.

I enjoy TV as background noise while I do other things. I don't know why!

We have only binge watched after traveling or when hooked on something we've never seen, such as Breaking Bad and Dexter.

My husband and I binged on Breaking Bad a few months ago. We never watched it when it was on. However, while visiting our daughter on the East Coast, when she was pregnant and waiting for the baby to arrive any day, she had us watching Breaking Bad with her. We were hooked and, when we got home, we finished watching it. Quite the show! :)
