Taking care of a pet

I'm considering taking care of a cat. However, what concerns me is that I'm always afraid I'm getting too attached to it, and eventually I will end up afraid that something might happen to my pet.

I have had many pets over the years, and at the moment I have a dog, a cat, a guinea pig and 4 rabbits. I love to spend time with my pets and I love them all. It is always hard to lose a pet, but I don't want to miss out on the positive things in order to avoid the pain when they die.

@Lusye28 Yes, pets bring us a lot of joy. My guinea pig is 5 years so she is not young anymore, but she seems healthy and active

@Porcospino Seems that having a guinea pig is really popular. You're right about the happiness that pets bring. I'll have to make up my mind soon.

@Porcospino It's wonderful you can find time to take care of so many pets. They do require care and attention, but on the other hand, it's worth it.

Probably I will. Later on... maybe :). It's a known fact that cats live less than human. So I'll just have to live with it for the sake of having a nice furry cat next to me.

She's a lovely cat. I'm considering taking a small one and see it grow up in front of my eyes.

I think worrying about our pets and get attached to them is really normal.

That's nice to hear. I'm thinking about this option for a really long time now, however, I always seem to find excuses not to take a cat. Maybe I should just give it a try.

@Lusye28 Well you have to also see where the cat is getting attached as well then down the road maybe you'll want to have one of your own or you might keep this one.

Pets, like the rest of us, don't last forever. When you get a pet, you give them love and receive their love and that stays with you long after they are gone.

Yes, it's a great idea to focus on the positive sides. It's good to have this little creature waiting for you at home and greet you with its tiny voice.

The animals live with us . We must protect them.

I wish all people were believing in this. True, if they are smaller, we should take care and enjoy their company.

@Marty1 I eat meat rarely, but only chicken. Funny, I don't remember having any friends, who are vegans.

Dogs are nice, but definitely not for me. Their character is different. But there are sweet dogs as well, especially small ones.
