What the best lesson life has taught you thus far?

We talk a lot about having things happen in our lives and those things becoming life lessons for us. I know I've had quite a few in my 64 years of life. For me, the biggest lesson I have learned is that we're stronger than we could ever imagine. There are things we can't possibly ever imagine going through, and yet, when one of those things really does happen, we tend to be more able to deal with the problems than we knew. I think that life has that cumulative effect on us, and while we don't realize it's happening, when we need the strength, there it is! What's your biggest lesson thus far? -Claudia-

I also learned that I was a lot stronger than I thought.

Positive thinking doesn't work. That, I should always be realistic and take actions.

I definitely understand that one. Although I still use positive thinking sometimes to keep calm :)

I think there is a lot of truth to the saying, that which doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. Like you, I have discovered that I can handle what life throws at me, even when I really want to retreat into my own little corner and lick my wounds.

I agree. I know how true that saying is. It still amazes me that we can endure so much in life and yet keep going.

I really don't know what has been my biggest lesson. I'd need to ponder on it a while.

I agree with yours 100%. One for me would be to not take for granted the magic of ordinary days. They pass by like a light breeze on a warm summer's day. In our ordinary days we find the most contentment, peace and love. Have a blessed day

oh no kidding! I often say that I'd give anything for a few very boring days. Those ordinary days help us recharge our own batteries for those "other" days ahead.
