Fashion Ridiculousness!!!

Fashion "experts" crack me up. Listen to what they say when they go on the morning shows and talk shows and understand that they are glorified sales people. Because I've never come across any "real" person in my life who looked at what I'm wearing and tells me that I need to get the "color of the season" as opposed to what I'm wearing! LOL Every season, someone decides (no idea who that someone is) what the "IN" color will be. And then they tell us that we HAVE to rush out and get clothes of that color. What if that color doesn't look good on us? What if we don't like the color? Oh, it's all hogwash! We're all individuals and should just wear what we enjoy, what's comfortable and what makes us feel good. Who cares if someone else doesn't approve? There really are no fashion police in the real world. They only exist on TV. :D -Claudia-

Yet people still follow their every word. I never watch these shows. Like you, I find it all a bit ridiculous.

Young people especially find it fun and love following trends. Well, anyone who does not decide to go into the fashion business, of course! Those are the people who are very independent and seem to set the trends. lol

I do not like other people pretending that they know what's good for me to wear. I am my own individual.

I love that, Marlina! What a great attitude. We're all special and we have to shine our own light. :)

We have some wacky designers in the UK. One women invented a skirt or dress that had a false rear put in it. I thought most women wanted a smaller derriere not a larger one! She is very avant garde in her designs bordering on the ridiculous.

@CRK109 That was some time ago. A ghastly woman I do not like her at all.

Wow! That sounds pretty bad. Here in the states, people claim that larger rears are "in" right now. I think it's awful. But if it sells, designers will flock to it! lol

I like individual style that suits the person's coloring, figure, and personality.

I agree! It's funny when I see some of these people talk about how we all NEED to get a certain color in order to follow a trend. I'd rather be a leader than a follower! :)

I've never understood why people would even consider listening to these so called fashion experts. I'm with you, I wear what I like and don't really care what others may think. Have a blessed day

oh absolutely! I enjoy my fashion sense. I wear things that I love and I could care less what other people think. I don't really stand out, and yet I've had people ask me about different pieces I wear because they like them. And being able to shop online means I can find things that no one else around me has. Love that! :)

I agree. I don't care about what people say, as long as it's decent and it makes me happy, I'll wear it.

I agree. I wear what I want to and don't follow the Seasons in fashion as some do.

I stopped paying attention to the fashion police a long time ago Most of the time I wouldn't wear any of the clothes they show on those morning talk shows even in my younger days

Same here. My husband used to watch some of it with me and he would laugh so hard at how sily a lot of the models looked. And that's the other problem. They are models. Or actresses. Not real people with real bodies. I'd rather look as I do because it's real.
