I never liked Richard Nixon much. Not his looks or his actions. Come to find out I was right aobut him. But, I was just reading a bit of trivia about him that has opened another door to his psyche for me. I didn't know he was a gambler. He once turned down dinner with Charles Linbergh because he preferred going to a poker game. He ran a game called "the wheel of fortune when he was a teenager and set up his own casino bar when he was in the World War II. With this money he partially funded his presidential campaign. Are there things about historical characters that you know that really surprised you? Bad or good? Image courtesy of Flickr. com Commons

Well I once found something about Charles Dickens the writer. He slept facing North as he believed it would make him a better writer. I sleep North and I dont know why, I just feel better with my head facing North.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if it has to do with air pressure?

I never liked Nixon either. What a cheater and a liar he was. But if you read history, you will find out some nasty things about a lot of presidents.

I wonder where the money goes after they toss it around? I guess you could call it an economy booster an election campaign? The media gets a share of the money needed to be seen in the political game I suppose.

I was surprised that there were complaints against Mother Teresa for substandard conditions in some of her founded hospices.
