It's not the appointment so much as the long waiting to that day.

I have a few appointments along with my wife at the doctor for basic followups. Mine are for blood pressure and mood evaluation and labs. If only I could get it all done on the same day instead of having to divide it into 2 separate days. When I have appointments the stress comes from the waiting. I used to only go to see a doctor when I had an illness. Now that I am past 50, I have to go 2 or 4 times a year and between the commute, parking, the gas, the setting and waiting to hear my name called for vitals It's just like so much mental agony.

I agree, the waiting is the hardest part in regards to doctor's appointments.

well, it is really stressing when you go visit a doctor. this I think is the only appointment that when you got one, you will have to wait minutes, hours and hours to proceed to that appointment.

It does get quite long and drawn out. I did lots of appointments with my sister for about a year. Some weeks we had as many as four appointments.

I waited over an hour one time and when the doctor said my blood pressure was up I told him I am not surprised and yours would be too. I need to be elsewhere now! GRRR
