Former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III on Saturday visited the Cleveland Browns in an attempt to land a job in the National Football League with the American Football Conference North Division team. Griffin was released by the Redskins on March 7, 2016. Griffin had a visit with the New York Jets on March 11, 2016 since the Jets are in negotiations with their current quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick who is a free agent. Griffin played four seasons with the Redskins before he was replaced by Kirk Cousins before the start of the 2015 football season as the starting quarterback of the football team. The Browns are in need of a quarterback after Johnny Manziel was released on March 11, 2016. If Griffin is able to sign a contract with the Browns before the start of the 2016 football season he would be coached by Hue Jackson who would be able to attempt to revive the career of the former Heisman Trophy winner when he played his college football with the Baylor Bears in 2011.

Robert is a nice guy off the field. I am sure he will land on his feet with another team in the league that needs his services.

For a brief while, the Denver Post was speculating that the Broncos might go after him.

Robert is likely to be a backup quarterback with either the Jets or Browns in 2016 since he has been bugged by injuries after the first season.
