I am planning a trip to Laesoe, Denmark

Some time ago my husband and I met one of our friends. We had dinner together and during our conversation our friend asked us if we wanted to visit a small Danish island this summer. The island is called Laesoe, and it is possible to buy a guided tour which includes everything. It is only one day. The tour starts early in the morning and the bus returns late at night. I visited this island many years ago when I was child, but I don't remember much from that visit, and I would like to visit it again. The guided tours are very popular, and I hope that it is still possible to join the tour. Our friend will call them and ask. It is also possible to visit that island on your own, but the guided tours are less expensive. Did you ever visit a small island?

This island looks really great from the pictures I just saw online. I've been to Malta, if that counts as a small island, it's a whole country heh :)

I visited Laesoe many years ago with parents, but I don't remember much from that visit. I would love to explore the island again. I also think that the pictures look great and I want to see the houses with the seaweed roofs in person. I have never been to Malta, but I would like to visit it one day. Did you enjoy your time there?

@Lusye28 That is a great idea. It is very interesting to explore new places. I also love to drive around and visit other parts of my country. My country is small and I have visited most areas. Germany is quite close and in the future I would like to explore the northern part of Germany.

@Porcospino It's great to visit different places. I enjoy every time I go somewhere different than the place I live. I made it a habit to make short trips every weekend (maximum is 150 km away), and just see something interesting. It's kind of refreshing.

The only island I had ever visited was Ireland. But as you know it is not really tiny. That would be lovely Porcospino. I hope you are able to get with that tour thingie..you would have to take photos and show us please. See if our fellow is also there the day you are there.

@Porcospino haha Porcospino..wouldnt that be wild if he was lolz?? Oh yes you would have to mail it to me haha. It will be great if you can join the tour..I bet it is lovely there. I once took a day trip to France from England but it was not an island..it was nice I was very young but I do remember the beauty of it. It was a little town called Boulogne-sur-Mer. I went by hovercraft..it was it seems a new thing then.

@TiarasOceanView That sounds very nice. In Europe the neighbour countries aren't very far away, and it makes it easier to visit other places. I have seen a photo of a hovercraft, but I never travelled in one. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the trip.

That sounds very nice. I hope that you will get the chance to go back. I love to visit small islands. There are about 400 islands in Denmark, but you can't visit all of them unless you have your own boat.

We have Rottnest Island which is just off Perth, our capital. It is easy to get a ferry there and there is accommodation available if you want to stay. Your tour sounds lovely. I hope you get to go. Do they have markets or old buildings or is it just a lovely place?

I just found some pictures from Rottnest island on the internet, it looks like a nice place. Maybe I will get the chance to visit it one day. There is a special type of houses on Laesoe. The roofs are made seaweed. I have seen pictures of those houses, but I would like to see them in person. They also produce a type of salt called Laesoe salt.

I will bring my camera if our friend manages to get tickets for us. There are some unique houses on this island. The roofs are made of seeweed, and I want to take photos of them and some of the other places.
