Wave those palm leaves!

I drove the car to church at 7:15AM to participate in the Holy sacrifice of the mass. I and my sister went to church. Today is Palm Sunday, so all Catholics go to church and have their palm leaves blessed by the officiating priest.
There were so many faithful just at the patio of the Cathedral. The blessing was before the mass so as you can see ion the picture, the faithful waved their palms to be blessed. We were not able to reach the blessing so it was the next mass that our palms were sanctified.
Palm Sunday commemorates the entering of Jesus to Jerusalem riding on a donkey and where the people spread their veils and waved their palms while chanting, “Hosanna”.
This Holy Week let us be “light, soft, and stress-free”, and let us reflect on the Passion of Christ, and at the same time, rejoice because He conquered death and renewed our relationship with the Holy God the Father.

but inside, all the images, statues and icons of the religious are covered with red cloths. have a Blessed Holy Week, my friend

the inside of the church is also beautiful, my lady. it was renovated few years ago, in fact it was finished last year lang

yes, and our cathedral is Sts. Peter and Paul cathedral where their relics are placed on the altar table. It is actually brick red but my camera shot it orangey.

I missed the Palm Sunday mass because I woke up to my boss's frantic call. so I worked at home as soon as I got up and after I delivered the output I went to watch my son's basketball game. actually I was already in the game when I finalized my work.

we were able to have it blessed still, my friend, but I was so far from the priest because of so many church-goers. The church is nicely decorated but the statues and icons are covered with red cloths.

What a beautiful church. As a non Catholic Palm Sunday is still an important day and in a few short hours I will be sitting in church and I'm sure we will sing Hosanna.

there are different varieties of palm l;eaves. it is also olive branches as indicated in the Bible. I think a palm leaf has many stalks. like a coconut leaf.

the skeptic in me wants to say something about "sheeple"---not so much to 'call believers "mindless automatons" the way atheists do,' but more to make sure you know what you're actually doing ... "reaffirming" the writings that you and all our holy congregation uses as its "ticket to the glorious future"

Palm Sunday here in Calgary is not as we do in the Philippines. I miss Domingo Ramos back home. O, by the way, I also had a classmate named Domingo Ramos and a relative named Ferdinand Marcos.

but you still celebrate Palm Sunday and the Holy Week, right, kabsat? Domingo Ramos is one name I remember my deceased Lolo Juan always mentioned. Also Domingo Sabado.
