For the past two weeks, I have been learning and reviewing foreign languages on livemocha.com . On this free website associated with Rosetta Stone, I have been reviewing Chinese Mandarin which I learned many years ago, and also learning German. Livemocha offers 35 languages ranging from Korean to Russian. Learning on Livemocha is not completely free, because it is necessary to help other Livemocha learners by checking and rating their exercises which are of your native language. All language exercises begin with a dialog which is written in the language you are learning. Introduction of vocabulary and grammatical patterns then follow in the target language. Pictures are used to introduce words, but there is also the option to translate the target language into your native language. Learners are expected to complete listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises which are evaluated by native speakers who acquire learning points by checking exercises. I enjoy the interaction with the native speakers of the language I am learning. There is also the option of communicating with them as language partners on Skype. I would recommend livemocha to anyone interested in learning foreign languages. Has anyone tried this site yet?

I tried lovemocha a long time ago but it didn't work out for me. I eventually had to take a class to learn the language. I think the concept is great and I'm sure it works for some people, but it didn't work for me.
