Don't Feel Like Cooking

United States
March 21, 2016 3:23pm CST
I'm sitting here procrastinating as I don't feel like cooking tonight. However, the family will be home and starving so I really don't have much choice other than to drag myself away from the computer and get things going. It's just so easy to lose track of time and get lost here......

@Marilynda1225 I always felt that way also. The computer can make me feel like i wanted to do nothing more this is why most times, I always make sure I've done all the chores first before logging in.

A few nights ago my husband said to get my butt off the computer and make dinner. I had only been on it a short time, really!!! Oh well, maybe for a little more than an hour. I think...lol

@Marilynda1225 I have to figure out what to make the hubby for dinner tonight. I will need to eat soft foods for a few days due to the fact that I had a tooth extracted today. Not sure what I'll drum up for him.

Don't you have days when you order food from out. Every housewife needs a respite now and then.

That does sound really good. I never think about salad until the warm weather gets here

@Marilynda1225 I would say we have salad 5 nights a week all year long.

I think most of us know that only too well - it's hard to drag ourselves away from the computer. I expect you'll make a lovely meal for your family.

Well, I put chicken in the oven with some baked sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli so I was able to still have computer time while the meal was in the oven

I feel like that a lot of times but as soon as you get in the kitchen and start things going it well get a lot easier. Also knowing you fed your family a nice healthy meal will have you feeling great.

I have to work until 6:30 this week, so I asked my hubby to fend for himself for supper. I had a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich, which suited me perfectly. I hope that you managed to get something good on the table.

I put chicken in the oven so it wasn't something I had to watch and could still continue my fun here

My feeling exactly. Sometimes it's a pity we have to eat. It does interfere with other pursuits, doesn't it?

Before my daughter & family moved in I really didn't have a set time for dinner as it was only me I had to worry about

I was just thinking that I should get off here and make myself some supper. I am alone so don't have to worry about anyone else, but I try to stick to a regular schedule for meals. I have some leftover meat, but need to cook some potatoes and vegetables.

I only used to have myself to worry about too until recently when my daughter & family moved in with me so now it's back to schedules and cooking for when they come home from work.....sigh

@Marilynda1225 I don't think I would want to go back to having to prepare meals for others.

I can definitely relate......cooking can be so boring and repetitive! My bunch is so picky that I often fix numerous meals each evening.

Thankfully my family will eat pretty much everything so I don't have the hassle of trying to please too many people with different meals

They'll be waiting for that home cooked meal. Sometimes we get a bit tired and perhaps someone would volunteer to cook. Perhaps.

I prepared my whole chicken, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and herbs this afternoon. Everything is in the oven and I'm not even watching it! Lol!
