From the iPod #23 - "Wild"

Singer/songwriter Poe (Anne Danielewski) earned her stage name after dressing up as Edgar Allan Poe for a Halloween party in her youth, an act that apparently horrified her parents, who were attending the same party. After releasing just two albums, the singer's contract was purchased by a man who kept her tied up in litigation for about a decade, during which she was not allowed to make music as Poe. (She did vocals on two songs on Rhys Fulber's Conjure One debut album as Poe, but performed as "Jane" on that project's follow-up album.) Her second album, Haunted, is a concept record, a tie-in to both her deceased father and her brother Mark's novel The House of Leaves. Haunted produced a few singles, one of which was the epic "Wild." And while the single did not chart, I think it's the best song on the album, as well as her best tune yet. Enjoy!

The name Poe seems vaguely familiar but the song struck no memory.

If anything, you're going to remember "Angry Johnny." Got some alternative play. Saw her open for Depeche Mode.
