If I Won The Lottery

First, I would quit my job. Then I would tell everyone I dislike that I dislike them. Then, I would fly off to a tropical island where I would sip down exotic drinks from a coconut. After a few months, my family may notice that I was missing, so I would send for them - to be placed on a different island. I'd visit them from time to time, but a man needs his space. I'll probably put the money in some funds so that I can 'grow' my money. Until I can think of a better way to spend my money fruitfully so that I can retire peacefully, I'll probably still continue with my normal life.

Now that sounds mature and reasonable. I would spoil me rotten and quell the guilt by donating to charity.

First, I won't believe it, I would think it's a dream. Then I'll realize it and do my best to take care of my parents. Probably I will want to go on a cruise around the world.

That is so nice of you to think of your parents. They did a good job raising a good person.

@RussTeed I hope so. Well, they were taking care of me all of my childhood, so I owe them.

@Lusye28 Good for you, you have a terrific outlook on life. And, write better English than many people in America, lol. I have raised 5 good children, I know they will take of me when I am old.

If I have reason to dislike someone then I will tell them without having to win the lottery first.

@RussTeed Everything sounds better if you can add that to the end of the sentence.

But it would probably feel better to end it by saying, "And by the way, I just won the lottery!"

I would donate money to charity and give a bundle to my cousin and brother. I would hire a professional editor and go on a shopping spree. I could go to a writer's conferences that's quite expensive. I would love to visit Grand Canyon in honor of my mother and buy a Cessna plane to do some in-person research for novels and travel. This is off the top of my head.

@jahunt Yes, but I would have to get on a plane, and I never have. It's not the height that bothers me, it that darn gravity.

I would probably go to church first, give my tithe and pray for guidance and protection that so much money won't ruin my life and those around me

@RussTeed very true, i know a local boy in our place who won the philippine lottery, he's back to almost nothing now and his wife left for another man, even his relatives hate him cause he changed when he had the money and squandered everthing gambling and womanizing, i don't want to be in his shoes

Lottery winners often do see their life ripped to shreds because of the money.

@russteed I love my job and am obliged to live in a house provided by my employer. I'd also still only be entitled to 6 weeks holiday a year so I don't know how is spend my winnings. Suppose I'd have to wait for retirement then spend it quickly.

@RussTeed of course I can't afford to go away for 6 weeks but at least I get the time off. I just go away for two weeks usually and not very far.

@xFiacre I see. I am self-employed, so I don't have the time to tale off, nor have I ever been paid for vacation time. I hope to go somewhere someday.

Winning a lottery money is due to luck and I may not be lucky every time. Although I would keep 20-30% of that money for my leisure, the rest of money i will use to grow more money, so I can financial independent at later age too.
