Random Word Post – clevis

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “clevis – A U-shaped piece of iron with holes at both ends for a bolt, used to attach things together for hauling, pulling, etc.” I’ve seen, and used these, off and on over the years from living on a farm, but I never knew it had a name.
