Bonding time

United States

My granddaughter is on spring break, so she is here visiting with her Nana (me) for a couple of days, I'm so excited! Her family lived with us a couple of years, so we built a strong bond. I'm glad even though she's getting older we haven't lost our closeness. I know as she turns into a teenager, we will probably have less in common, and her friends will become her world, but I'm going to enjoy it while I have it, and do everything I can to stay close. Yesterday we went to the mall, lunch and saw a great movie, "Miracles From Heaven", we had a great day of catching up and some giggles too. I miss her dearly when I don't see her, so I cherish these times together. Life is good! There's not a lot to do in this small town, so not sure what we will do today? Any ideas from MyLots friends? Note: The photo is one of the blocks from the special quilt I'm making for her.

How sweet! I only have one 7 year old granddaughter, and love her to bits. I only saw her once in the last 4 months, so I know how you feel. I can't wait to see her when we go back north. Your quilt will be extra special coming from you!

I would suggest a hike and picnic lunch. Not sure if you have areas you can hike in though.

You could take her and just go for a walk around the town or something to do. Glad you can still spend time together.

I'd be perfectly happy just sitting and talking, but I'm sure she'd get bored, lol.

Cook or bake together while sharing stories with each other.

One thing my grandkids always love is looking at old pictures of themselves, siblings and cousins and sharing funny stories about things they did and said as little kids.
