I don't like denying anyone food.

Most definitely not my child. However, tonight she was hungry and told me that all she had for days was bread. I ordered a pizza for her since I am not in the same town as her. We had no way for her to get the care package I was going to pack for her. I did tell her that it's time for her to get to the stove and cook for her money to last her. She starts work Monday but won't have a check for two weeks. I will take her a package tomorrow and hope that lasts her. I figure I can help everyone else I might as well help my own kid.

WHen I got my very first paycheck ever? I blew it. I just spent that money because it was there to be spent. It took me awhile before I realized that I needed to save. I hope she starts saving and using her money frugally soon.

I'm sure she'll appreciate it. It's hard having to wait for that first check.

I'm glad your feeding her, I have been hungry for days before and that's the worst feeling in the world.

Is she able to get state assistance for food stamps? Or have her call churches in the area, they will help her with food too.

@sharon6345 Have her call a local church or even get a flyer when she does her food stamps. They often have a list of other places that will help..

It's always a wonderful thing to help someone in the family. Those are the ones who depend on us the most. :)

Food bank would give her food if she can show proof of her not working, and no income. Most stores would also give what they are throwing out. Least she has is bread, its $5 a loaf here just saying.

@sharon6345 I do make my own, and I got a bread machine but haven't figured it out. But lately I've been working so I bought a couple loafs was $4.50 for the cheapest one, and even more for the fancy ones (yet store bought bread is old and stale tasting). milk is about $10, and eggs are $4 a dozen. Hence it is cheaper to have chickens.
