Birthday gifts for men

My husbands birthday is coming up and I hate trying to find something unique for him. He will be 68 and like a lot of men that age, doesn't really need anything but, if I don't get something he will be really hurt or angry. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He has no hobby's any longer and just likes to eat, watch tv and go on cruises. We can forget about the last one as there is no way he is getting that. He does love to cook but I think I already got him so many cooking items in the past, he doesn't need any more.

You said he likes to eat. I expect you know his likes/dislikes. You haven't said how soon his birthday is but maybe get him some international delicacies he may like? Say he likes steak, you could get the best steak. If he's a cheese fan get some nice cheese. Or maybe a very nice meal at a Michelin starred restaurant if he's a real foodie.

@Mike197602 My husband is great at cooking and especially all kinds of meats. He loves having people here so he can show off his cooking skills. He usually does it big on New Year's Eve and NY Day. I will check into this. I was just looking at a different site. I am not a meat eater so I have to find out things he does like. I am a seafood person.

@ramapo17 your husband sounds like a bit of a foodie. If he loves great food and knows how to cook it he would like Kobe steaks as they taste amazing but also have the "boast" factor especially imports.

Funny you should mention that as that is what I got him. A gift box from a steak company with a variety of meats in it. This way I can enjoy it too.

Does he have one of those credit card carriers that are supposed to make your cards safe from hackers, something to think about for a guy.

Usually I just give him gift cards and let him decide himself. It's easier for me.

I got him a gift box of different steaks and meats. He hasn't opened it yet and I am anxious to see it and hope he likes it.

I was always bad at getting gifts for men. He likes to eat, how about a nice dinner out. Or course, I would still try to find a nice gift to give him as well.....

@T_gray That is a good idea as I benefit from that too. I like to eat out.

i was about to suggest cruising until you said to forget it. it's true that people at that age doesnt ask much anymore, just like my parents. but you mentioned he loves to eat and cook. have you tried cooking for him? or go to your favorite restaurant maybe. surprise him with the rest of the family there..

I stopped cooking long ago as he retired before me and loves to cook so I stay out of the kitchen except to do dishes. Thanks for your suggestion.

How about a nice meal that you cook and a date night of walking and watching a good dvd together.
