Sometimes my ideas get the heat

Sometimes I get criticized when I talk about global warming or God or even politics. I sometimes feel like I am sparring with the devil and this annoys me to the point of wanting to get out of the game. I have my way of thinking and it isn't always in the same ball park or on the same page as others. Viva the difference in us. If we all thought alike it would be a very boring world. That is a quote from my 8th grade English teacher. When someone shoots down an idea of mine in conversation as totally preposterous without offering explanation to the contrary or justifying why they have an opinion or lack of one, it is just not playing the game by the same rules that I play it. Have you ever been in this type of situation where you had an idea you wanted to share and no sooner than you mention it another person shoots holes in your concept and tries to make you feel smaller than an ant?

I have in the past...and that is why I am more of a person that doesn't share my ideas too much now. Or I only share them with select people.

Feel free to share with me. I will not put any of your ideas down. I follow the golden rule and besides ideas make the world go round. There will always be a few who don't agree with something you feel is both important and worth the time to suggest. I am open for new ideas.

I'll just ignore that person & continue sharing my ideas.

Including the person getting heat for theirs. That is the main point I want to make. If a person is getting the treatment for having an idea that doesn't measure up to another person's standards it should not be necessary to make that person feel small for having an idea in the first place. Sometimes this type of behavior can lead to making some people feel inferior and actually prevent them from blossoming with fresh new and innovative ideas that actually have real merit. There is such a thing as positive and constructive criticism and all out condemnation.
