My current version of Norton Security is 22.6.0.142 It says I have Norton Security Deluxe. I went to see how much the yearly update for Norton Security was from my product as it indicated I had 14 days left to renew. According to my Norton account for Norton Security Deluxe, purchased on April 1, 2015, approx. one year ago, my order status is 'Closed' even though the product is still functional until April 1, 2016, just 3 days from now and I still have 4 days to renew. Would you renew at $79.99? or would you buy the box for a year for $59.99 directly from the Norton Site? That is a $30.00 price difference. It seemed they wanted approx. 79.99 to renew the product.I have Norton Security Deluxe, based on what they tell me and I have to wait until the end of the month when I get paid so by that time I will have enough to get the update, but every single day, Norton Security informs me I have so many days to renew. Then I went online to check out the price of the different levels of protection that were provided by Norton Security. There are 3 levels, starting at 39.99 for 39.99 at $20.00 off, for Norton Security Standard, 49.99 at $30.00 off, for Norton Security Delluxe, and 59.99 at $30.00 off, for Norton Security Premium, which offers online storage space of 25 GB and these prices are just for the one year coverage. There is also an option to pay more for a 2 year coverage. According to the offer on the Norton site, If I just download the Deluxe version of Norton Security it will only cost me $49.99 whereas if I renew from the product itself, the price is $30.00 greater, at $79.99. Why the $30 dollar difference? I see the obvious pricing variants given on their site display ad via URL address that clearly indicates that the Deluxe for one year is normally $79.99 and is on sale at $30.00 off at $49.99. But the problem I have with this is that when I go to the renewal page via my product I see only the $79.99 regular price tag, not the discounted $49.99 price tag. That is the main problem I see with this situation. They actually want you to buy the 2 year Deluxe at a 30 dollar discount for $99.99, yet the Premium is not listed on the Link ad and it costs even more. The main point I have to make here and it is significant to this discussion: The price to renew online from the product is greater than the price of the product for sale directly from the site: Norton Security Online: URL address:

That is not right, but it does happen. They are having a sale hoping to get more customers. The link in your existing Norton software should send you to the sale page, but it doesn't. It might be that it would take too much time and effort to update that every time there is a sale (the coding could be done when you initially downloaded it and not updated). It could also be that they figure that you are already a customer, so they can just let you pay full price for the product. There are many companies that give preferential treatment to non-members hoping to increase their customer base but then turn around and will not offer established customers the same discounts or offers.

Telephone companies do this and so do auto insurance companies. Ah yes, and so do cable t.v. companies. They are all doing this. Thank you for adding this information. Now someone else can benefit from it.
